In
modern industry metal parts are being rapidly replaced by
engineering plastics. However, the appearance of the molded
plastic articles is not very attractive due to the limited
color range and visible molding defect of the plastics available.
KORR- POL FINISH, a coating based on specially formulated
acrylics, now makes it possible to overcome these shortcoming
by offering a variety of finishes to enhance the decorative
appeal of the plastic molded articles.

FACILITIES FOR SPRAY PAINTING :
ACRO FINISH can be applied by the most common method of spray
painting and no specialized equipment is needed. However, it
is absolutely necessary to carry out painting in dust free &
if possible humidity controlled atmosphere. Air filters should
be installed on the walls of the paint shop. |
|
|
1.
SURFACE PREPARATION : - Plastic article to
be painted should be through cleaned and should be absolutely
free from dirt, oil or mould lubricant like silicone. The cleaning
can be done by ultrasonic cleaner but the most common method
is to clean the surface manually by dipping cotton rags in Cleansol,
wiping the article by wet rag and finally mopping with clean
dry rag. Frequent replacement of cleaning rags and solvent is
a must, as with repeated use they become saturated with the
contamination. |
2. PAINT PREPARATION :- KORR-POL ACRO FINISHES
AND THINNERS are specially formulated according to the sensitivity
of the plastic substrates. Paint should be thoroughly stirred
and then mixed in the ratio 1 part & 2 parts Thinner by
volume. Only required quantity should be prepared every time
and should be filtered through 300 mesh cloth before spraying. |
3.APPLICATION :- article should sprayed evenly
at a pressure of 25-30 lbs/square inch. KORR-POL ACRO FINISHES
are quick air drying but forced drying under 150 watts infrared
bulb for 5 minutes improves hardness and drying. |
